One-Time Financial Assistance for Maryland Veterans and Military Families

The Maryland Veterans Trust Fund application portal is now open. Eligible Maryland veterans, surviving spouses, and members of the Maryland National Guard experiencing financial hardship are encouraged to apply for one-time financial assistance.

Changes to the process

The Maryland Veterans Trust Fund has a new monthly application timeline to provide faster, more predictable processing, the Maryland  follows a monthly review schedule:

• 1st–15th: Applications accepted.
• 16th–23rd: Applications reviewed and decisions finalized.
• 24th–End of Month: Applicants receive a decision on their application.

To help us review applications as quickly and efficiently as possible, the Veterans Trust Fund follows a monthly application and review schedule.

New Leadership at VTF

The Maryland Department of Veterans and Military Families is pleased to welcome Anissa M. Walker, who joined the Maryland Veterans Trust Fund as Executive Director in June 2026. Under her leadership, the program will continue its vital mission of providing financial assistance to Maryland's veterans and military families in times of need.

Maryland Veterans Trust Fund

The Maryland Veterans Trust Fund is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and a core program of the Maryland Department of Veterans and Military Families. The Trust Fund provides one-time grant awards to help veterans, surviving spouses, and members of the Maryland National Guard overcome temporary financial hardships.
