In April 2026, Calvert County established a Veterans Docket Court.   States Attorney Robert Harvey had sought a regional veterans treatment court based on the model District 11 Administrative Judge Eric Schaffer used, but while he was successful in establishing collaboration with SAOs from Charles and St.Marys counties, District 4 Judge Daly was not interested in pursuing a regional venue.  

Harvey pursued a docket court and was successful.   Note that former Secretary Owings had asked me to attempt to prompt a venue here.     SA Harvey got it done.   

Grey Barton Executive Director of the Court of Special Problems told me almost two years ago there was no funding to stand up new VTC venues and funding existing VTCs would be challenging.   I offered alternative funding of cannabis taxes but was squelched.
