Senior Master Sergeant David Lutzow, USAF (Retired), served from August 1977 to October 2004. Throughout his 27 years on active duty, he served in the Security Police, Aerospace Propulsion, and First Seargent career fields. During this time, he was stationed in Missouri, Virgina, Korea, Germany, and Maryland. During the time he was stationed in Viginia, his outstanding skills as a jet engine mechanic led him to being promoted to the rank of Technical Sergeant under the Stripes for Exceptional Performers Program.

He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Professional Aeronautics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and Associate degrees in Aircraft Propulsion Technology, and Personnel Administration from the Community College of the Air Force. Additional professional education included the Noncommissioned Officers Preparatory Course, the Noncommissioned Officers Academy, the Senior Noncommissioned Officers Academy, and the First Sergeants Academy.

Mr Lutzow’s professional awards include:

89th Support Group, Andrews Air Force Base, MD 1998 First Sergeant of the Year

89th Airlift Wing, Andrews Air Force Base, MD 1997 First Sergeant of the Year

17th Air Force, United States Armed Forces Europe 1992 Lieutenant General Leo Marquez Award

48th Fighter Interceptor Squadron, Langley AFB, VA 1986 Noncommissioned Officer of the Year.

Additionally, his extraordinary leadership skills contributed to the Andrews Air Force Base 89th Security Forces Squadron being named "Best Large Unit" in Air Mobility Command for 1999, and the Spangdahlem AB Germany 52d Component Repair Squadron being named Best in Air Force for 1992.

After his 27 years on active duty, Mr. Lutzow spent the next 20 years working for the DoD Cyber Crime Center in the computer forensics laboratory. From 2004 to 2009 he served as a contactor for General Dynamics, and in 2009 he was selected for government service and served as a government lead until 2024. 

Mr. Lutzow is a life-time member of the Air Force Sergeants Association (AFSA) and a past president for AFSA Chapter 102. In 2023 he was selected to represent AFSA as a Director with the Maryland Military Coalition.
