Jayson L. Spiegel has served in a variety of senior executive positions in the private, public and nonprofit sectors. He is currently a senior program manager at Optivor Technologies, where he manages a variety of contracts for DoD and civilian agencies. He retired from the Army Reserve as a Lieutenant Colonel in 2009.

In addition to serving as the President of the Maryland Military Coalition, Mr. Spiegel is a member of the Maryland Veterans Commission, representing the Reserve Organization of America (ROA). He is also an Army Reserve Ambassador for Maryland.

Mr. Spiegel was the Executive Director of the Reserve Officers Association of America (ROA), a professional association that advocates for military personnel. He also served during the Clinton Administration as the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Army (Force Management, Manpower and Resources), where he was the Army’s senior manpower and force management official. He also was the Acting Assistant Secretary of the Army (Manpower and Reserve Affairs) for one year. Prior to entering Government service, Mr. Spiegel was an attorney in private practice, representing clients in professional liability litigation in the Baltimore-Washington, DC area.

Mr. Spiegel is married with two adult children. His wife is employed by the Department of Veterans Affairs. His son is a company commander in the Maryland National Guard and his daughter is a PhD candidate at UMBC
